Are you planning a bridal shower for your bestie? Or thinking of things to do on a bachelorette party for your sister where you are the maid of honor and there is pressure to make it a party to remember? Or maybe you are bored at home on a Saturday with no plans whatsoever and just Netflix-ing and chilling with your partner. Even if you are not all of these things, there is a new, pretty interesting DIY hack you could pull off and make it fun- a DIY penis!

Yes, you heard that right. Clone-a-willy, will you?

What is clone-a-willy?

It is penis molding and casting kit with which you can make your own homemade dildo complete with a vibrator. According to the company, they use body-safe materials for the casting process and the product at the end if incredibly life-like. These kits are available in a variety of skin tones as well as in bright, neon shades. Each penis casting kit comes complete with a:

  • Body Safe ‘Medium Skin Tone’ Silicone
  • One Bag of Algae Based Molding Powder
  • Molding Tube
  • Vibrating Unit

It even comes in a milk chocolate version and is that the best Christmas gift ever or not?! There is a demo available on the company’s website to help you get started.

No, I do not want to watch a demo, I’d rather you tell me

Well, in that case then:

1.Get hard

Yes, we meant that. It is so that you can measure your partner’s penis length against the molding tube. If you are partner-less or he is doesn’t want to get hard for this, use a zucchini or a banana or anything else that resembles a penis. Measure the length of the selected object against the molding tube and cut off the excess. Tape the edges.

2.Mixing

Take a bowl and empty the contents of the molding powder bag into it. Pour some water to make a mixture. Mix them for about 60 seconds. It is completely ok if the mixture is lumpy, you’re not Martha Stewart. But take care that it is not too lumpy. Pour it into the molding tube.

3.Casting

Insert your penis inside the molding tube and follow the time given on the directions with the kit closely. If you are not using a penis, insert whichever object you have and make sure it doesn’t touch the sides of the tube and stays in the center. The molding powder turns into a spongy, flexible mold, so if you are using your penis it can be easily removed, no worries there. After that, let it air dry for at least two hours.

4.The filling

Now, take the two silicone jars you are left with and pour the contents into a clean cup, disposable or otherwise and stir well. The silicone that comes with the kit is “a medical-grade platinum silicone, free from contaminants, phthalates, or toxins of any kind and is completely safe to use” according to the company’s website. Pour this mixture slowly into the cast you have made so as to avoid forming any air bubbles. Leave an inch at the top when you are pouring the mixture.

5.The vibrator

Very carefully, insert the vibrating unit into the mold and be careful that it stays in the center of the silicone filling. Let it stay like this for at least 24 hours.

6.Viola!

Carefully pull the hardened replica of the penis from the tube and you will see that each vein, each tiny detail has made its way on your brand-new, customized, DIY silicone penis. It will look and feel just like the real thing.

Watch out for:

While the entire process is fairly simple, those who have trouble with DIY and crafts may be at their wit’s end on their first try. Here are some tips for those who might be looking forward to do this at home, with friends or their SO.

  • Smaller mixing bowl

The instructions suggest using a large mixing bowl. But use a smaller one instead because there isn’t much vigorous whisking required and the mixture doesn’t have to be super smooth. Pouring from a large mixing bowl into the smaller molding tube will make a huge mess. Preferably use a bowl that comes with a spout at one end.

  • Or use funnels

Either get disposable paper funnels from the market or diy them yourself at home. You can use funnels to pour the casting mixture into the molding tube as well as for pouring the silicone into the cast. Mess free, hassle free.

  • Follow the time to the second

They have time instructions on the directions for a reason. The mixtures have to be ready before you pour them or pull them out. Allow each step of the process the exact time it requires. No one is running a marathon here.

  • Get the plus sized kit according to your size

If your guy’s size is bigger than average, it is better to opt for the plus sized kit. You want the end product to look life-like and the normal kit might not serve the means to that end.

  • Only use the materials that come with the kit

The casting powder and silicone that come with the kit have been tested and declared safe for body use by experts as well as scientists working on the team. Using any other materials that do not come with the kit or mixing a different color, glitter, or any other thing is not recommended and should not be done. You are going to insert your penis in a mixture for quite some time and you want it to be absolutely harmless.

  • But my partner is curved

In that case, after you have cut the molding tube according to your length, cut it further into two pieces at a slight angle. Rotate these around until you reach the desired angle. Tape the two pieces and secure with duct tape.
